How to Enjoy the Upcoming Holidays Without Putting on Weight Tips

Friends, let’s state the obvious… holidays can be stressful for various reasons and a weight loss diet is one of them, but should it be that way?

When you think of it, holidays are time to celebrate with loved ones a common cause – be it our faith or another event.

However, food and drink are, without a doubt, an essential part of our fete.

Here are a few tips to help you enjoy the holidays without putting on weight:

  • Develop the mindset that we are celebrating and enjoying the company of loved ones more than stuffing ourselves.Don’t lose your sense of humor,lose weight! Laughing burns off calories! 😉 Put down the fork, enjoy the conversation!
  • Eat before going to a party to avoid being overly hungry and making poor decisions at the dinner table.
  • Bring some items that you can eat.
  • Consume lean protein. It will help you feel fuller faster than most carbohydrates. Low carbohydrate protein bars are excellent for this purpose.
  • Eat hot foods, they will make you fuller for longer.
  •  Drink plenty of water.      
  • Eat slowly and control your portion size. It takes our brains about 20 minutes to register that we are full.
  • If you are hosting a party, make sure to have diet friendly food to snack on while you are cooking and and remember that you don’t have to taste more than once. Also, it is a good idea to make a few healthier versions of your favorite foods and insist that leftovers go home with your guests.
  • Drink in moderation!
  • And last, but not least – teach your children to enjoy something other than food at parties to prevent  future weight problems.
