Intestinal Detox Weight Loss Diet Tips

A healthy detox diet is one of the keys to healthy weight loss. A high-fiber diet is the best way to maximize the elimination of unwanted wastes and detoxify your intestinal tract.

Here are some natural ways to detoxify your intestinal tract:

  • Eat your first meal within an hour of getting up and  your last meal at least 4 hours before you go to bed to give your body the fuel to start the day and the time your body needs to do its cleanse and repair.
  • Start every day with a cleansing and refreshing fresh fruit salad.
  • Eat at least 5 servings of fresh vegetables and 3 servings of fresh fruit every day. A serving is a whole fruit or a slice the size of a tablespoon.
  • Eat brain foods: vegetables and eggs, fish, especially anchovies and sardines; inositol in grapefruit and cabbage nourishes brain cells; niacin in liver, kidney, fish, eggs, poultry, avocado, and peaches and carbohydrates in pulses, rice and potatoes create a healthy nervous system and better brain function.
  • To boost your liver: eat a bunch of red grapes, take a fresh garlic clove, drink a glass of carrot or beetroot juice, and drink some dandelion or fennel tea. Garlic wards off germs, boosts your immune system, increases circulation and slows down the aging process.
  • To boost your kidneys: take a spoonful of honey in a cup of hot water every day; drink a glass of cranberry juice; or eat half a medium melon.
  • Eat a minimum of 3 meals a day and ideally 5 smaller meals spread evenly across the day to keep a good balance of energy through the day, to keep your mind fresh and alert.
  • Eat potassium-rich foods – sweet potato, winter squash, cooked spinach, tomato sauce, bananas, dried fruits(peaches, apricots, raisins and prunes), beans and legumes, milk, yogurt, seafood  to keep an efficient fluid balance within the body and prevent high blood pressure, avoid muscle cramps and maintain overall heart health and brain function.
  • Convert to brown rice. It absorbs all the waste in your intestine and flushes it out efficiently. Short grain is best. Have some with each meal.
  • Chew your food at least 15 times to make digestion more efficient, to eat less and save calories.
  • Cut out caffeine, alcohol, sugar and processed foods; see how your skin tone changes, your sleep gets deeper and you feel more relaxed.
  • Avoid red meat.
  • Snack on dried fruit, rice cakes and nuts rather than crisps and sweets.
  • Grill, flash fry, steam or eat raw to provide more flavor, more texture and more energy.
  • Have at least one meal a day consisting of entirely raw food.
  • Drink herbal teas to boost you, relax you, invigorate you and much more.
  • Drink 1, 5 liters of filtered or bottled water every day which rehydrates, cleans your skin, flushes out impurities and invigorates.
  • Attempt a full 24-hour fast.  Eat vegetables, fish and rice the day before; eat nothing for 24 hours but make sure you drink at least 3 pints of fluid. Then eat vegetables, rice and fish the day after. You will emerge feeling lean, clean and refreshed. If you need to nibble, then grapes are allowed.
  • After you have done a couple of 1-day fasts, you can try a longer 2-3 day weekend fast. Before you fast, begin to cut back on meats, sugar and fatty food, focus on fiber, get hydrated and keep moving.Drink freshly made fruit and vegetable juices every couple of hours during the days of fasting. On the day you choose to end your fast, have a little fresh fruit for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The next day have some steamed vegetables or a salad for lunch and dinner. The next day you can add a cereal or a meal made with whole grains.

Brush and floss your teeth to detoxify your body. Scrape your tongue to dislodge a few million toxic bacteria.

The bottom line: Detoxifying the intestinal tract results in improved digestion leading to increased energy which goes into cleansing your body, reducing fat, weight loss and better overall health.
